Hello readers. I'm back from my mountains get away and you know what that means! More jewelry updates from the Stella & Dot Spring Collection! Embroidered cuffs are my new favorite style when you want to wear a chunky bracelet. Don't get me wrong, I love a bangle but they tend to get in the way when I'm typing and writing which is a lot some days. These embroidered cuffs are much more feasible and the St. Tropez Statement Cuff is my go to bracelet for the spring. I adore the button closure and the hand sewn Swarovski crystals and glass stones. The ivory color goes with so many outfits and will transition nicely into fall.

I'm going to Cashiers, NC with my boyfriend and his family to their mountain house tomorrow. I wanted to leave my readers with something to keep warm and bundled up as I will be over the next couple of days. I found this adorable store on Etsy, Bonbi Forest. I love this scarf because the owls are subtle and it's available in lemon, raspberry and teal blue. All great colors that add a punch to any outfit if you ask me! Oh Joy! is a new blog I stumbled across and was mentioned recently in Lucky magazine. In college and even post college you seem to reach for the t-shirt drawer more times than not. Gotta Have Faith

This weekend was a touch slow but I must say that I feel fully recharged for the week. I have great expectations & faith for what's ahead! I did finally set a date for my premier Stella & Dot trunk show. I am pleased to announce that it will be at my home on Saturday, February 13th! It is a come & go from 10 AM to 2 PM. Anyone is invited to come and bring a friend. Official invites and reminder evites will go out the first week of February. Hope to see you all there.

Calling All Chocolate Lovers

This sweet & salty Chocolate Bark hits the spot! I love this quick fix for a chocolate craving. Simply melt some chocolate in a double boiler then spread evenly in a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle your choice of mixed nuts on top and refrigerate until hardened. I used pistachios, walnuts, almonds & cashews.

I loathe recipes so I do not have a link for precisely how to make this. What I do have to offer are the health benefits of dark chocolate. Quite interesting! You can make this with milk chocolate but if you are ever eating my Bark then rest assured it will be Dark Bark!

Exciting news! Patone has just announced that Turquoise is the color of the year for 2010! This had to be mentioned because duh, that's the name of my blog!

Peroxide For Your Pup

My sweet Marley is making her debut today on my blog but for not for one of her finer moments. Marley helped herself today to not only my chocolate donut but my house guests' today as well. Knowing that chocolate is toxic to dogs I called my local vet. They advised me to give her a teaspoon of peroxide. At first this sounded scary to me but I trust my vet & gave her the peroxide. I put her in a bathroom with a tile floor. After 5 minutes she had thrown up the donut undigested & the problem was solved. Keep this puppy tip handy in case your dog ever gets into chocolate. I heart puppies!

Just went to a new sushi restaurant in Cahaba Village called Maki Fresh. Can I just say that it is my new obsession. Very affordable, very green & even more yummy! Most everything is under $10 and portions are great. I recommend the Bang Bang bowl. Perfect for lunch or a casual dinner date.

Oxford In The Big D

So me and my closest friends kicked off 2010 with a bang! Ole Miss played OSU at the Cotton Bowl January 2nd and the Rebs beat them 21 to 7! Not only was victory sweet but so was playing in the new Dallas Cowboys stadium. Cowboys fan or not, everyone should experience that large screen above the field and impressive stadium once in their lives. I was extremely impressed and in awe. Thank you Dallas for a big time and have no fear, I'll be back!
