Neat Freak

I'll confess...I'm a touch OCD.
Don't crinkle my paper.
Don't write on my paper with blue ink.
I turn my straightener on/off three times every morning.
Same thing with the alarm at night.  I check it at least twice.
That probably explains why I can't get enough of this blog.

Twinkle Toes

I'm starting to notice and take part myself in the ballerina trend.
Maybe not the full fledged tutu...
However, I like the pale peach or lavender with a little ruffle here and there.
For a ballerina inspired look, try BCBG.

Try wearing your hair in the classic ballerina bun this holiday.

Need a ballet flat?
You can't go wrong with Miu Miu.

Your little one wants to be a ballerina princess too.
I was Christmas shopping and ran across this adorable ensemble from Janie & Jack.

Even Kanye's feeling it.
Check out his 30 minute video here.

Black (and Brown) Friday

I have always liked unexpected color combinations.
Black and brown is one of them.
Not too many people pair these basic colors.
When done correctly, I think it not only looks good but can be functional as well.

Do The Gobble Wobble

video

This year you can eat your turkey and then dance like one.
Old Navy made the bird move current with their version of "The Gobble."

I love these Kate Spade Be Dazzled earrings for a holiday dinner.

I can't wait to watch Beyonce's Thanksgiving Special tonight @ 8:30 PM CST on ABC!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my readers!!

I ran across the Desktop Wallpaper Project yesterday.
They had some cute custom designs that you can download for free.
I just added the above to my work computer.

Five Things

First I would like to announce my FREE Giveaway Air Sports Watch Winner:
Congratulations Caroline Bell!!
I will email you for your information.
Thank you to everyone who participated.
I really enjoyed doing the giveaway and am going to start doing them on a regular basis.

Five Things I'm Loving At the Moment

I went to Fresh Market on Saturday.
They have mastered the illusion of better products.
I think there is some merit to it but a lot rides on raw cooking talent.
That's the other skill they have perfected.
I feel like Barefoot Contessa when I'm in there.
Anyways, I picked up the snack, Wasabi Explosion.
Yummy!!

Saw Morning Glory on Sunday.
I was recently in the job hunt,
I'm now in the work your way up mode,
So I really related.
Loved it!

Sid Mashburn, a designer out of Atlanta, has been on my radar for some time now.
I saw this tie in my newest issue of Garden and Gun.
If you need a man present this Christmas you should check him out.

I'm A Believer

Listen, if anyone was a skeptic of these bad boys, it was me.
However, I've changed my ways.
The Air Sports Watch is a miracle.

Benefits:
Improves circulation and mental alertness
Strengthens immune system while reducing stress
Speeds up post-recovery time
Improves balance, flexibility and range of motion

The only person who doesn't need this watch is Jesus.

I'm not going to go into the scientific reasons on how this watch works.
There is plenty of that on Google.
Here's what I do know.
I have daily knee and foot aches and pains from previous injuries.
Ever since I put this watch on, I have had zero.
That in itself was worth the $20 for me.

Get one.

Under Construction...Thanks A Lot Cosby

I'm in the process of giving my blog a new look.
This all started when Cosby told me my blog looked Gothic.
I knew he was wrong but it's similar to my "don't tell anyone what you're naming your kid theory."
How many times have you been in a conversation and someone says, "I like the name John," for example.
Then the other person replies with horrible attributes about a John they once knew.
Now you don't want to name your kid John.
Cosby kid dissed my blog so now I have to change it.

On the bright side of things...
I have been wanting to add tabs.
This forced me to do it.
What do you think?

Moving on to my newest theory: New Years Eve Unnecessary Hype
Call me Debbie Downer but I always psyche NYE up to be some magical evening.
It's always just another fun night...minus the afterthought - that's one of the best nights I've had in a while nights.
More often than not I spend too much on my attire.
Then I have buyer's remorse when the night wasn't what I had in mind.
So I'm turning over a new leaf.
I'm going to lower my expectations and the cost of my dress.
I do want something with sequins this year and ran across the site, ASOS.
It offers several sequin dresses for crazy good prices.
If I end up ordering one, I'll let you know what the quality is like.

Get It Girl

Hallelujah!
House of Harlow is back at Luna!

I'm fascinated by Nicole Richie and I love her jewelry line.
Bohemian chic gets me every time.

I had these studs a while back.
I lost them and never could find the earrings online to re purchase.
I'm really into over sized studs right now so I will probably buy these again.
And when am I not wearing black?

Don't Stop til You Get Enough

A little list of things I can't seem to get enough of...

Mumford & Sons', Sign No More, has graced our presence since February but I can't stop listening.
The second they are remotely close to Birmingham, I'm going.
As this friend says, "I believe good music is magic."
They are my kind of magic.

Ahhh...the Pentax K-x 12.4MP White Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm zoom.
Please be under the Christmas tree.

No, not Miley.
I want that dress.
For New Years Eve.
Without the denim jacket.
In my budget.
Preferably with cap sleeves.
I don't have my college arms anymore.

A sorority sister of mine at Ole Miss invented these.
Nothing is more uncomfortable and unattractive than scrunched pants at the top of your boots.
This is my new go to gift idea.

Good times.
A friend ran across this photo the other day and sent it to me.
I can't stop looking at it and laughing.

New Obsession

So Friday we found "The Barn" that Mom & I were hunting.
It would help to have the name right.
It has an array of shops, cafes and events.
We had a good time, ate a good lunch and bought a few things.

After some shopping in Franklin we went to an old favorite, Venus & Mars.
This vintage boutique has it all.
It was named GQ Magazine's "One of the Best Clothing Stores in America" in 2006 & 2007.
I was devastated to hear during my visit that they are transitioning to an online only store.
I'm skeptical of ordering vintage online.
I can only hope for the best.

On Saturday Mom & I went to Christmas Village at the the Nashville Fairgrounds.
Vendors from all over set up booths showcasing clothes, accessories, gifts, antiques, home decor & more.
Here are somethings I discovered...

My new metallic silver Mom Agenda for 2011!
I can't function without a planner by my side at all times.
I have used many a planners in my day...
After using the Mom Agenda, I will never look back.

1.

2.

I don't have babies, not close to it and not into the baby thing right now.
However, a girl always needs good baby gift ideas.
There is ALWAYS someone you know preggers.
I ran across these two ideas that I really like.

A cute book of 20 easy-to-tear, full color bibs for mom's not so convenient new life.

You know that annoying pick up game kids like to play when sitting in the stroller feeling ignored?
I have had the pleasure of playing one too many times babysitting.
This handy dandy/fashionable dropper stopper attaches to the stroller so that bottle can't go far!!

I saved the best for last...

Brittany Fuson, her blog & paper products are my new obsession.
I met her at Christmas Village & wanted literally everything in her booth.
She graduated from the University of Alabama and started her own stationary company.
She has notecards, folded cards, greeting cards, enclosure cards, notepads & prints.
The above prints are a few of my favorites & ones that I purchased.
Not only will I be making future purchases with Brittany, I will be reading her blog daily.
I just love it!

Junk in the Trunk

My bags are packed.
Mom & I are headed to Nashville, TN tonight for our annual shopping trip to celebrate my birthday .
We started this random tradition when I was in college.
We both agree that it is one of the best weekends of our year and we really can't explain why.
We do not go for anything in particular.
We come home with a random assortment of Christmas gifts, clothes, novelty items, etc.
Here's what the schedule looks like for Friday!

First stop.  Downtown Franklin.  Main Street.
We shop here on Fridays.
Quaint little shops and cafes are a must!
We do hope to find "The Barn" that we keep hearing about.
It's supposed to be lovely.
I'll post what we discover.

Next stop is my all time favorite.
I'm going to keep it a secret for now.
I'll post everything tomorrow night.

Last up.  Dinner at Mere Bulles.
A little background.
I find history on places like this intriguing.
Named after,Michele Rutledge, know as Mother Bubbles. (Mere Bulles in French)
The Civil War left the Rutledge family land rich & cash poor.
Michelle opened a restaurant in 1866 in Charleston on King Street in a building left to her by her husband.
The restaurant was an immediate success.
She was know as "Charleston's favorite hostess" while maintaining complete control of the kitchen.
Her love for champagne and multiple toasts throughout the evening anointed her Mother Bubbles!
If you are ever in Brentwood, TN, I highly recommend eating here for good food & southern experience.

Print found here, here and here.
