What Is The Internet?

So I have had zero internet since last Thursday from the comfort of my home.

I will be doing without until this Wednesday, not by choice.

After a brief panic attack, I realized I was going to make it.

It's amazing what all you can get done!

I have organized pictures, caught up on some reading and started on my taxes!

This morning the Today Show featured a comical segment from 1994.

The hosts were discussing the internet in general

and trying to decipher what the "@" symbol stood for.

I found it quite interesting.

Winter Trees

I'm re posting Winter Trees.
Since I am embracing change at the moment, or at least trying to,
I ran across a slight change in my color palette.
Here ya go-

In the midst of many life changes, this friend shared a quote that spoke right to me.

I need to better

accept,

embrace,

& adapt

to change.

My car recently died and I had to purchase a new one.

What I thought was the end of the world,

 quickly became many blessings in disguise.

What's really strange is the actual car problem solved other unrelated problems.

Change can be good.

And now that I'm a big girl...

(first real job),

(just purchased first car in my name),

I'm now hunting for a big girl space with big girl decor.

This is a tough task.

Many  current items are hodge podge from college

and have, what was she thinking, all over it.

So I'm starting from scratch...basically.

It has taken me weeks, 

dare I say months, 

to determine a color palette.

So here are my primary colors...

With two exceptions.

I want Noir to be Navy

and Caramel to be Mustard.

That's all.

It is finished.

18 Days Late!

I'm doing this!

And buying some for gifts.

No journal writer here, however, one line a day I can handle!

365 entries appear five times per page.

Every year you are reminded by what was on your mind that very same day the year before.

I can't wait until Jan. 1st 2012 to start!

Too bad I didn't find out about this 18 days ago!

On the Mend

My apologies for the brief siesta.

I have experienced some major ups and downs in the past week.

A few life changing on a positive note.

Others, not so much.

Relationships of any kind are work.

And I need to work through a few right now.

It's funny how little signs reach out and grab you when you're down.

Tiny moments to heal your soul.

After contemplating a "5 things post," I just couldn't do it.

I had to be honest and explain my absence before I could move forward.

So there it is.

Off my chest.

 Although I'm under construction in the background,

I'm full of thanks when I put my troubles into perspective.

Work Hard, Play Hard

I loathe telling people my dog is a poodle.

Not at all because I'm ashamed.

Marley is not a fluff ball that I carry in a Paris Hilton dog carrier.

The average person is unaware that poodles are the second smartest breed.

As an added bonus, Marley, is a freakish athlete.

Cosby and I took her to his grandmother's land New Years Eve to work on her skills.

Look at her clear that hedge!

Watch out Kobe.

Love this!

She entertains herself quite often.

Thirsty.

Officially worn out on the way home.

So, after some hard work, we cooked a good meal.

That's fresh ginger being finely chopped.

We added that and fresh wasabi to a bowl of low sodium soy sauce.

Very tasty to dip seared ahi tuna in!

This was my delicious meal.

After some wine & champagne we hung out with friends.

I have nothing against special events for new years...

However, after this year, I have realized that a small dinner party with close friends is quite pleasant!

We watched the original True Grit on New Years Day.

I can't wait to see the re make this weekend!

New Year, New Name, New Closet

Well hello all.

I'm excited about my first post for the new year.

It has started out a touch rocky, however, I stand firm that great things are in store.

With a new year comes new things.

Like a new camera that produced all photos for this post!!

I can not claim artistic craftsmanship of the snowman.

Saw it on the side of the highway on the way to grandmother's for Christmas.

As you can see, I have a new blog name.

Turquoise & Truffles was a mouth full.

Although it was very fitting, Just Sayin, is the perfect match.

Fully aware I'm alone on the meaning/importance to my new title, I will not explain further.

However, the Title tab at the top of my blog houses a more detailed explanation if you're interested.

And yes, a new closet.

Kind of.

Same closet really.

Different shopping technique.

Different organization strategy.

I'm attempting to slowly have all green hangers. 

I sectioned apparel off into categories and then color coded each category by sleeve length.

At the very least, closet rehab seems like I have new clothes.

My jewels had gotten out of control.

I bought some trays that organize silverware.

Now I can actually see what I'm working with!

I hung all long delicate chain necklaces from a framed bulletin board.

I enjoy the sparkle filter on my new camera.

There is a multitude of items that I personally can never have enough of.

Example: Trinket dish

Perfect for embracing small treasures.

With each day that passed, my vanity accumulated random products with no home.

A friend of mine gave me a silver tray with my engraved initials as a bridesmaid gift.

I placed all products on the tray and my morning process already flows better.

Jewelry can dress up an outfit or your room.

I used a big statement necklace that I rarely wear to adorn my vanity for an extra feminine touch.

Lastly, I needed to organize my earrings.

A cute little earring harp with a bird perched on top did the trick.

I put my everyday studs in yet another trinket dish.

This piece is actually supposed to hold spices.

But I don't like to touch spices with my fingers so...

I guess I don't really believe in new year resolutions.

Purging clutter from my life that has accumulated over the year is my thing.

My day to day routine suddenly feels renewed and fresh.

Due to somewhat of a rough start to 2011, 

I am going to try to not control and analyze my path in life, 

trust in God's path, 

and listen to my heart.
